Fun Facts
I have lots of hobbies, and among them are skiing, playing the guitar, and singing. This is the third ski season in a row that I've worked at a ski resort, and while the first one was quite good, and the second one somewhat better still, the one that I currently work at has got to be one of the very best in the US, on the North American continent, and in the whole world! :-)
About Me
As concerns my academic background, I can say that I received a BA in Economics, as well as a BA in History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in December of 1998 and, because I finished my undergraduate studies there with a 3.846 GPA, was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society in May of 1999.
In August 2005, I received an MA in Political Science from the University of Idaho and, in December 2016, was awarded a Ph.D. in Political Science, International Relations, and Modern Southeast European History from Nottingham Trent University in the UK.
During the 2019-2020 academic year, I received high "A"s in two online graduate-level History classes that I took through hays-state-university">Fort Hays State University: "History of China," and "Modern Far East" and, given that I had taken (and received "A"s in) four classes in that field and at that level back when I was enrolled at the University of Idaho, I earned the right to also teach History at the university and community college level.
In early 2015, I received an "A" in a 150-hour online TEFL / TESOL "Master Class."
Experience
I have been teaching different subjects at different levels going back to early 2006; among the classes that I have taught and tutored students in are Political Science for two different community colleges, in one case in-person, and one, online; English for non-native speakers to people ranging in age from 6 to in their 60s, and including "English for special purposes" to university students in Albania who were studying subjects like Economics, Banking, and Finance, Political Science,
Approach
While I always seek to teach my classes at as high a level as possible, I treat my students with respect, am friendly, would like to think that I'm funny and easy-going, and approach or interact with them like I'm some sort of uncle who has information that they would like to know/need to know, but who provides it to them in such a light and "easy-to-absorb" manner that they are perhaps just barely cognizant of the fact that ... I'm teaching them, and that they're learning.
