Fun Facts

One passion people quickly learned about me is that I love Knitting. y love most crafts, but knitting is well it seems to be in my blood. I learned to knit in the fourth grade, L lately, I have been making toys. I have made several different characters as well as tried a few animal soft toys as well.

About Me

I have been a teacher since I was a teenager. I was raised by two English teachers. I love words and playing with them is my guilty pleasure. I also love crafting, especially working with yarn and knitting needles. I learned early how far reading could take you and I never looked back. If I can read it, I can do it and I try to show that to my students as well. I am fortunate enough to have worked with all levels of students from many different backgrounds and look forward to continuing to do so.

Experience

I have worked with children most of my life, First as a babysitter, on as a tutor and teaching assistant. I have taught in most grade levels and worked with both special needs students and regular students. I have worked with AP students as well. Most recently, I have taught in the preschool classroom and started tutoring again.

Approach

In my childhood, I loved reading and learned to tell and share stories with family and friends. I struggled with Math and was frustrated often, but learned the basics. Students need to see and know that it is okay to struggle but not give up. I want to tell you that all learning is fun but some of it is working, with encouragement and a fun beginning all of us can foster a love of learning.
