Fun Facts

I was born and raised in Southern California but spent every summer fishing in Minnesota. I am a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan. I danced tap, ballet, and jazz for ten years of my life, and still dance whenever I can. I love to hike and so far have hiked Zion, Bryce Canyon, and a little bit of the Swiss Alps.

About Me

I am a recent graduate from the University of Southern California, where I received my bachelor's and master's. I will be attending law school in the fall of 2023 and aspire to become an Intellectual Property Attorney.

Experience

In high school, I tutored two elementary school girls in reading and math. I also worked as a studio aide at a local art studio. There we taught children five years and older how to draw, color, and paint using various mediums While at USC, I tutored second, third, and fifth graders in their respective mathematics. Each week, we would go over their math homework and check their arithmetic. I would come up with additional practice problems for them to solve.

Approach

With each of my tutees, I try to assist them in their learning styles. My fifth-grade tutee was a "watch and then do" type of learner. She wanted to watch me solve the math problem a few times and then apply the arithmetic method on her own. My third-grade tutee was a more "trial and error" learner. She would attempt the math problem on her own and ask for assistance when she got stuck. I would assist a little and she would keep attempting the problem.
