Fun Facts
I am been working as a camp counselor for the last two summers! It has taught me so many things and allowed me to work with children ranging from ages 4 to 14. This experience has allowed me to make a real impact on children and I have been promoted in my position at this camp for next summer.
About Me
I am a Psychology major with a Criminal Justice minor at chicago">Loyola University Chicago. I am a freshman and was on the Deans' List my first semester and plan to continue my studies in this field and eventually attend graduate school.
Experience
As a member of the Nation Honors Society, I tutored frequently as it was one of my requirements. I enjoyed very much working with other students at my high school in an area they were struggling. I also spent a few hours a week at Jordan Elementary School during my first semester at Loyola where I tutored young children. This was a great experience in the tutoring aspect and also getting me introduced to the Chicago community.
Approach
My sister struggled with learning disabilities for as long as I can remember and this is what inspired me to start tutoring. Seeing her light up when receiving the help she needed was inspiring. While a tutor must be very knowledgeable about a subject, of course, they also must be compassionate and patient. I feel like as well as being knowledgeable, I embody these qualities.
