Fun Facts
Two of my fun facts come in the form of a story: To make it short, my dad hit the longest hole-in-one in the United States at 488 yards when I was only 5 years old (fact 1). 7 years later, I hit a hole in one on the hole directly before the hole my dad had the longest hole-in-one on. Mine was only 135 yards (Fact 2). Lastly, I sat next to Bill O'Reily at dinner this past year.
About Me
I am from Kansas City and am a senior at Texas Christian University pursuing a degree in Finance with a minor in FTDM. I currently hold a 3.78 GPA and plan to find a finance related occupation that fit my values and work ethic. I was awarded the "TCU Academic Achievement Scholarship" after my freshman year and am currently in the honors business program, Neeley Fellows. I am involved on campus with the consulting club, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and was the rush chairman for the fraternity two summers ago.
Experience
My tutoring experience comes from study groups throughout my time in high school and college. My colleagues come to me for advice and help with specific classes. Last year, I was helping a senior in college with a course of his. I have the leadership capability to help others understand topics by making it easily relatable for them. In return, I feel I continue to learn when I teach.
Approach
As I said above, I believe finding a way for the students to relate is key. You know the "teach a man to fish" analogy? Well, there are many different ways to fish, and it's best to find the one that suits the subject the best. Communication is key, for me to understand what the student is not understanding, but also for me to present the answer to the problem. I also believe practice is the strongest way of learning, and actually applying your knowledge to relatable problems.
