Fun Facts
I live in Florida but have traveled as often as possible. I also speak French fluently and Spanish. I am an enthusiastic and empathetic teacher!
About Me
I worked full-time as an administrative assistant for many years after college and now have more time to teach! I love films and novels as well
Experience
I previously worked for a short time as a substitute teacher in an elementary school before I became an administrative assistant.
Approach
I actually aspired to be a teacher while I was growing up, and I feel I would have been very good at it. I would be honored to try now. I have seen some of the worlds, and find meeting different people inspiring.

GED Tutoring
I completed high school and then college, with emphasis on communications studies in public relations. A variety of background subjects are taken to graduate, which make a person more knowledgeable in general. So, besides the basic lessons, such as reading and mathematics, history and science, for example, a chosen foreign language is taken as well. I also chose more math, such as calculus, trigonometry and geometry, French, geography and scriptwriting.
Basic Computer Skills Tutoring
Computers are used every day and help us to find information instead of going to the library, but even in the library, staff use computers to help you and you can even spend time on their computer.
You can also keep notes at home (saves paper) and take classes from your computer or read the news or see a movie on one!
I had to get used to looking at the screen so long, but now I am comfortable. You can find eyeglasses to help with the glare.
Although there are basics to easily work on your computer, there is also always more to learn.
I went from typing letters on a computer to saving and sending documents, emailing and even photoshopping pictures.
Conversational French Tutoring
I grew up learning French as well as English in my family. Then I attended 4 years of high school French as well as in college. I have continued to 'use' my French with fellow employees I have had who speak French, as well as keeping contact with French friends. It helps a lot to know French when ordering in restaurants, visiting French-speaking countries or reading some English- a lot of French words show up in our language and will make you more cultured or able to help others with those words!
Conversational Spanish Tutoring
I learned French and English while I was growing up, so I already was used to thinking about how to say something in another language.
Since I have lived in Florida, I also got to hear and practice Spanish very much all around me, and took a few Spanish classes, and it has helped me many times!
Many, but not all, Spanish words sound like French words, like 'bread' is 'pan' in Spanish and 'pain' in French.
Most of the time, if you can 'converse' in another language, or speak many regular sentences, it will help you the most, and you will get better with practice!
Microsoft Word Tutoring
Microsoft Word, or "MS Word" for short, is the basic computer program for most general use.
I started with it at a job, typing letters, eventually saving and sending documents.
MS Word has a series of 'commands' on buttons on the keyboard and on the screen, to help you navigate your work to create it, save it, send it, edit it and other things.
I enjoy using MS Word because you can find your preferred way of doing your work. Sometimes, the same command can be carried out in two ways.
You will become proficient, because the screen 'helps' you find the commands and so will I!
