Nutrition Tutoring

I have previously taken courses that focus on nutrition for geriatric populations and the principles and practices in nutrition. I have previously tutored three college students and also joined study sessions myself to understand the concepts of nutrition. All courses highlighted the importance of nutrition and how nutrition affects all population groups in the United States and globally. My degree (Health Science) gave me experience in how to treat individuals who face malnutrition and also discussing chronic conditions that arise from malnutrition.

Homework Coach Tutoring

Subjects that are excluded are history and social science courses (economics, sociology, etc.). For math, I am able to provide homework coaching for the following math subjects: trigonometry, statistics, and algebra I. Previously offered to tutor for many subjects, especially English courses and health-related courses. I am also experienced in offering help for science subjects such as environmental science, biology, and forensic science.

Health Tutoring

Currently have a degree in Health Science and a minor in Biology. I am able to provide the information needed to successfully earn an A in any health-related course that the student is taking in high school.

English Tutoring

Will cover the basics of the English language (depending on grade level).

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

Practice makes perfect! Will assign the student to the appropriate reading (based on reading level and grade) and will focus on improving the student's reading comprehension skills by assigning reading exercises and focusing on the student's strengths and weaknesses/ exit quiz each session to focus on the student's level of understanding for each session.

Study Skills Tutoring

I am able to provide helpful study tips to keep you engaged in studying. The most important thing is time management and ways to effectively study without any interruptions. I will also take the time to provide a space for one who studies better with a partner.

Writing Tutoring

The student will learn the basics of grammar structures and how to write a complete sentence along with the use of proper punctuation. Cursive handwriting lessons can also be provided (upon request/optional) and am willing to work with other aspects of writing.

Reading Tutoring

Willing to take the time to read with the students and focus on comprehension skills in reading as well. Also would be willing to help the student(s) understand the purpose of the reading and will organize questions based on the reading to keep the students on track with the reading.

Basic Computer Skills Tutoring

I have experience in operating many Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and also have experience in Adobe. If you are potentially seeking tutoring for other basic-computer skills, please contact me to ensure that I can provide you with that skill.
