About Me

I’m a junior Elementary Education Major at Northeastern Illinois University. Previously I attend Kingsborogh Community College in BK, New York where I took courses in child development as well as courses related to mental health related.

Experience

My most challenging and most rewarding experience was being hired as a private tutor for a 9-year-old who had experienced trauma, was nonverbal and was completely illiterate. I was hired in 2020 by 2021 he was completely verbal and able to read and count and won several awards from his elementary school. He is in the 6th grade and now testing on the 3rd - 5th-grade level depending on the subject and test-specific area.

Approach

As a child, I struggled with confidence. During my life, I’ve had people tell me it was okay to not know and that I could learn, to be kind and nurturing, to take baby steps if I needed, and to build my confidence in whatever way they could. That’s what I want to do for someone else.
