I was raised in Kansas City, Missouri (Go Chiefs!!!) but my family is originally from South Sudan which is in East Africa. In my free time, I love to read, listen to podcasts, and coach soccer!

About Me

I am new to Dallas, so I love finding out about fun things to do in the area!

Experience

As a senior in high school, I was an AVID tutor, which meant that as an upperclassman I was able to support younger students with their classwork from various subjects. Also, I taught 6th-grade math in summer school in 2022 and I currently teach Reading and Social Studies to 4th graders.

Approach

Typically, I model what the expectations are for students as well as my processing out loud for them. Then, I do a guided practice with a different example to monitor where the student is at in understanding the concept. In this step, I make sure that the student is able to tell me and show me their understanding. Lastly, I give the student an opportunity to independently demonstrate their understanding of the concept. I think that students learn in different ways, and I would adjust as needed.
