Fun Facts

I have traveled extensively, starting with my Peace Corps experience in Colombia, South America. I have traveled throughout Europe and the UK and more recently have made many trips to China ( Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi). I enjoy learning about other cultures. I love singing, hiking, meeting my doggie friends on neighborhood walks. Life is good and I am thankful for the wonderful experiences I have had on this life journey.

About Me

When my husband told me his company was sending him to an MBA program I said, " I want to do that, too!" Luckily, he said, "Okay, let's do it!"
I have traveled to China 12 times! I lived in Colombia for 4 years and was a Peace Corps Volunteer there. After working 25 years in the travel industry I retired. But, I wanted to continue being involved with young students. I started by tutoring children in China online and loved it! I speak English and Spanish, but not Mandarin!

Experience

My first experience in teaching was as a Peace Corps Volunteer! I taught English to middle school students in rural Colombia. From 2017-2021 I taught ESL to students in China. Since 2021 I have been tutoring elementary school children in the United States.

Approach

Patience and persistence! As I have attended numerous training sessions in several different programs, I have acquired a wide set of approaches to follow. Much of it involves repetition and hand signs as well as props.
