Started in traditional publishing in the 80s with rubylith, zipatone, photostats, waxing type, etc. Migrated early to using digital methods. Scanners, digitizing, type programs and management systems, Quark, Indesign, MS office. I have produced many publications, documents, cards, flyers, posters. Start to finish to printing inhouse and using offsite printers inRGB and CMYK

Macintosh Tutoring

Apple / Macintosh user since 1984: from early beige power pc machines, to the beige G3 towers. Then early colored imacs with crt. The mirrored door G4s were a big speed jump. SInce then have used all apps on macbook pros, imacs, and towers. All 4 areas. Graphic design and publishing, Photography, Audio and Sound, Video Editing

Microsoft Word Tutoring

Have been using MS office suite on PCs and Macs for decades. A useful suite to do inhouse publishing and design and word docs. It has export features (file formats) useful for sharing for universal use. Powerpoint took over from the late 80s slide houses and everything changed. Very useful for presentations and has set the bar and standard.

Basic Computer Skills Tutoring

Basic computer skills and digital fluency is something I have taught for years Especially people migrating from one platform to the other. PC to Mac. Or Mac to PC. Choosing the right platform and machine for the tasks you will be doing is important. Computer skills to me are beginner and intermediate and advanced. I like to find out what someones goals are and ask the right questions to where they are at the moment, and where they would like to be. Skills are creating a document with graphics and or images, saving in file format and sending via email, text, zipped file or uploading to google docs. Working with photos: Enhancing, Sizing, designing with, creating add for social media or other digital platforms. Sending emails with a signature. Creating files storage systems. Optimization of machines. Creating work stations, and mobile work stations. and so on. It really matters what the individuals goals are.
