Fun Facts
I love knitting, especially socks. I play soccer at my university. I'm from Arizona but am subject to midwestern winters at my college :(. Salt and Vinegar chips are supreme (in my opinion) to all other potato chips.
About Me
I am in my third year at Lawrence University. I am majoring in biochemistry, minoring in ethnic studies, and have made the Dean's list for all terms. I plan to go to medical school after finishing my undergraduate degree.
Experience
I work for the Center of Academic Success at my university as a tutor and a peer leader. I tutor biology and chemistry for about 4 to 6 hours each week. I also peer lead a small class once a week for students taking the introductory biology course at my university.
Approach
I love biology and chemistry, so I approach tutoring this topic with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Through my experience at college, I have learned that finding one's learning style is one of the best ways to succeed. With this in mind, I approach tutoring from many different angles and use different types of explanations to help students find what works best for them.

Biology I Tutoring
So far in my college journey, I have taken BIOLOGY: CELLS TO ORGANISMS, BIOLOGY: ORGANISMS TO ECOSYSTEMS, and EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN & STATS with a focus in biological data. As a biochemistry major, biology is directly related to my area of study and is a field I am passionate about. I am currently employed as a biology tutor in the Center of Academic Success at my university and have lots of experience helping college-level students with this topic. I also student teach a small class that accompanies the Introductory biology course at my university. I am very well versed in tutoring/teaching cells to organism biology, but I am proficient in organisms to ecosystems biology and statistical analysis.
Chemistry I Tutoring
So far in college I have taken
PRINCIPLES OF CHEM:STRUCTURE & REACTIVITY, PRINCIPLES OF CHEM:ENERGY & DYNAMICS, and ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I. As a biochemistry major, chemistry directly relates to my field of study. I am currently employed as a chemistry tutor in the Center of Academic Success at my university and have experience working with college-level students on this topic. I am well versed in tutoring intro chemistry (structure, reactivity, energy, and dynamics).
