About Me
Experienced Tutor in Literacy/ESL for young learners to adults. Over the past several years, I have had the opportunity to work with students in a learning center, teach English online to young learners, instruct K-5th graders in various Phonics/Reading programs, and assist college students with their writing assignments. I have a Bachelor's Degree and completed a TEFL/TESOL 150-hour certificate.
Experience
I am currently serving as a Reading Tutor for an online organization serving 1st-8th graders in a structured literacy program. Prior to that I served a term with the Americorps Reading Corp program. Before that I had the privilege of working at an IB school supporting students with literacy interventions along with assisting students at Huntington Learning Center. Previous to this, I worked at a Writing Center at a community college, and taught ESL online to young learners from China.
Approach
My approach varies depending on the student's needs and I incorporate fun learning strategies for young learners. I believe that each student has the ability to be successful and my goal is to help them through this process. I look forward to working with you!

I have had the privilege of working in a Writing Center at a community college for 4 years, serving students with their writing assignments both in classes and at the Center.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
My experience working with elementary students in various intervention programs along with working at Huntington Learning Center provides me with skills to assist students from K-12.
Homework Coach Tutoring
While working with students in various capacities such as Intervention (literacy) and in an AVID tutor program, along with lesson planning and study skills provide me with the tools to help support a student's learning!
English Tutoring
While completing my TEFL 150-hour certificate, I worked teaching English to young learners from China, then instructed groups of 1st-5th graders in literacy at an IB school, and now serve with AmeriCorps Reading Corp. which is a researched based literacy-based K-3 program to improve literacy in schools.

While completing my TEFL 150-hour certificate, I worked online teaching English to young learners from China.
