Fun Facts
I love learning new languages and I’m currently studying Spanish and Italian. I also love playing music and have been playing piano for 15 years, guitar for 2 years, and Arabic percussion for 1 year! I grew up in California, but moved to New York 4 years ago for university and stayed after graduating.
About Me
I am a recent Columbia University graduate working on my own startup! I graduated with a science/california/fresno">computer science degree, but took many classes across other disciplines and discovered my interest in history, linguistics, and sociology. I hope to eventually go to grad school to continue exploring those interests.
Experience
I have been tutoring since 2014. I have experience tutoring in many subjects across almost a grade levels and have helped students reach the academic goals. I have also helped students through the college application process, tutoring SAT and ACT prep, as well as reviewing and editing personal statements. Some of the schools my former students have been accepted to include Columbia University, Yale University, UCLA, and UC Berkeley
Approach
I try to meet students where they’re at and really understand why they are struggling in order to understand how I can best assist them. I believe the key to tackling the things we struggle with is to break them down into more manageable tasks or understandable concepts, then build them back up.

Computer Science
Middle School Math Tutoring
I have taken math courses all the way up to calculus and linear algebra. I also tutored several middle school students in math over the past 6 years.
French Tutoring
I studied French for 3 years and can speak at the B1 level.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have taken math courses all the way up to calculus and linear algebra. I also tutored in 2nd-5th grade math at an after school program at PS 154 in Harlem for 4 years
Social Studies Tutoring
I have taken social studies and history courses all throughout my education all the way up to the college level. I also tutored in 2nd-5th grade social studies at an after school program at PS 154 in Harlem for 4 years
Piano Tutoring
I took piano lessons for 10 years and have progressed through all the basic and intermediate levels. Additionally, I played piano as an accompanist in several performances (ballet, singers, ensembles)
Graphic Design Tutoring
I work as a freelance graphic designer, using tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I also took a couple UI design courses as part of my degree, so I have a good understanding of design principles and the design process
HTML Tutoring
I graduated with a degree in computer science with a focus on front end development, which largely used HTML
Java Tutoring
I graduated with a degree in computer science and was required to take data structure in java, and have some work experience in java as well
Javascript Tutoring
I graduated with a degree in computer science with a focus on front end development, which largely used JavaScript
Python Tutoring
I graduated with a degree in computer science, and was required to take an introductory python course, as well as most of the advanced courses I took were taught in python. I also have a lot of work experience using python.
Basic Computer Skills Tutoring
I graduated with a degree in computer science and use computers for all of my work. I am familiar with many different operating systems.
Conversational Arabic Tutoring
I am a native Arabic speaker and took lessons in Modern Standard Arabic for 3 years. I lived in Cairo for 8 months, and can speak Egyptian Arabic fluently
Writing Tutoring
I took several writing courses throughout college and always received As in those classes. I also have research writing experience, as well as historical writing experience, and creative writing experience.
