Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about me is that I love to be outside! I love the sunshine but don't love the cold. I am the oldest of four, and I have visited Costa Rica, which was a life-changing experience. I love to sing and hope to one day learn how to surf!
About Me
I went to Thomas More University in Kentucky and got my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have taught first grade, second grade, and fifth grade. I graduated with a 3.6 GPA. I love to be outside in nature and spend time with my family as often as I can! I am very passionate about teaching and I plan to try something new with my skills and knowledge! I am 23 years old and I would love to travel the world.
Experience
I have had the opportunity to observe and interact with over 10 different schools during my time at Thomas More University. I student-taught in Covington, KY. I taught eight weeks in first grade and six weeks in fifth grade! This past year I taught second grade. I have also worked with school aid teaching creative expression, helping children feel their emotions, and choosing the best ways to handle big and small emotions.
Approach
As a child, I struggled with math. This was so frustrating for me because I was good at reading, but math was so difficult to grasp. Thankfully my sixth-grade teacher changed my attitude and taught me the way I needed to be taught and I turned to love it! I now love to teach and learn math! I love to help students see the enjoyment in subjects that they struggle with to enhance their learning and overall success.
