About Me

Hello Friends! My name is Teacher Darcie, and I am from Illinois in the United States. I am a former 28-year in-person SC, Primary Teacher, SC primary ESL teacher, and a Literacy Specialist/Interventionist for children ages 3 through 16. I have two children who are now grown up and living independently. Therefore, I spend time with my husband watching scary movies, reading and writing poetry and children's books, and I love to make crafts. I also have two crazy cats that love to make messes! My very favorite food is pizza!

Experience

I am a former 28-year in-person SC, Primary teacher, SC primary ESL teacher, and a Literacy Specialist/Interventionist for children ages 3 through 16. I retired six years ago and have been teaching online ever since. I love getting to know each child as a person who has unique needs, learning modalities, and personalities. I have the time, dedication, devotion, passion, energy, creativity, patience, flexibility, and love to provide for each child. In our classroom, we learn and love literacy!

Approach

As a child, I faced many of the same challenges that children today face in school. I was shy, poor, bullied by other children, lonely, and hated school. From an early age, I vowed to become a teacher so that every child I taught, teach or will teach would never feel unnoticed, small, and forgotten as I did.
