I am a very adventurous person, I enjoy trying new foods, games, activities, and anything! I think the most adventurous thing I've done is skydive which was one of the best experiences of my life! The next thing I plan to do is bungee jumping.

About Me

Hi! My name is Ty’ya Benyard. I am a student at Howard University working towards a
Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Speech-Language Pathology. My ultimate goal is to become a Speech-Language Pathologist for children. I’m very interested in the components of speech, reading, and communication. I’ve learned that children and families always remember their speech therapists because of their impact. I want to be able to make a difference in children’s lives which is why this specific path is perfect for me.

Experience

I've worked with and taught kids in several settings, whether that be in the home, at daycare, or even at a summer camp. I currently work for an after-school program where I can implement and work on lesson plans with elementary school-aged children.

Approach

Creating a safe space while learning is something I prioritize. As someone who has always struggled to ask questions in a classroom, it's important that I make my students feel comfortable enough to express what they need help with.
