During my free time, I enjoy running, acting, and martial arts. I run 30-40 miles per week and have participated in several marathons, including one across the Grand Canyon and back. I have done community theatre and a few independent films. Currently, I am the voice of a cartoon character named Henry Hand. As far as the martial arts goes, I practice Krav Maga.

About Me

Hello, my name is David Flannigan and I am from Bisbee Arizona. I attended and graduated from the University of Arizona where I majored in business management and minored in theatre arts. After graduating, I worked at the US Geological Survey. After a few memorable years of government service, I decided that I wanted to be challenged in a different way and changed my career path.

Through past experiences, I have developed an awareness of what it means for students to experience language barriers, be unable to express themselves in school, and feel isolated from their classmates and community. It is this empathy, and my understanding of how education can open doors and impact one’s life that has motivated me to pursue a career in education.

In the fall of 2009, at began austin">tutoring in Douglas, Arizona. Although my focus was mainly AIMS math test preparation, I also gained experience austin">tutoring middle school reading/language arts and college algebra. In 2010, to gain further teaching experience, I received my TESOL certification and moved to Argentina to teach English.

After an amazing year and a half in South America, I am back in the United States and am proud to say that I am a member of the Frog austin">Tutoring team. I am excited to bring my love for austin">tutoring and my ability to modify instruction to meet individual learning needs to the company. As a austin">tutor, my primary goal is to assist all students to feel valued, and transfer lessons learned in school into life-long skills to enable them to become positive and empowered global citizens.
