Fun Facts
I am obsessed with islands! Ice islands, tropical islands, artificial islands! I have traveled to over 30 islands and I have so many more to reach :) I have researched islands for years and think they are the most incredible places in the world. I come from a massive family of 11 and love traveling.
About Me
I am a researcher and Ph.D. student at the University of Zagreb in Croatia. I am a Fulbright Scholar with expertise in environmental and geographical sciences and a passion for sustainable development and training youths to be more environmentally aware. I am also a certified ESL teacher, having taught English to children and adults for 6 years.
Experience
I have six years of experience researching geography and government topics in the US and Europe, as well as 5 years of experience teaching ESL both in-person and online.
Approach
Learning new things can be tough and scary, but I believe that with the right attitude and support, anyone can succeed.
As a teacher, I aim to create a positive and motivating environment where students feel safe to ask questions and share their thoughts, no matter how small or big they may seem.
Together, we can overcome the fear of the unknown and achieve great things.

PhdGeography Tutoring
I have taken courses in human and physical geography and courses on using geospatial technologies such as GIS or coding programs like Python and R and graduated with Honors. I like to focus on governance and geography, as all geography is governed, and how it is governed determines how long we will have the resources and benefits from it.
Government Tutoring
I have taken courses on political science theory, comparative politics, and international relations and graduated from this school with Honors. Often, I have found that students know a great many facts but do not always seem to understand concepts. I like for students to reflect on what they believe and put their beliefs up to scrutiny against foundational concepts so that they understand the schools of thought that they are starting from.

ESL Tutoring
I have taught English classes online and in person for 6 years. I have taught as young as 8 years old and as old as 80. My focus is getting students to speak and to express themselves in the language as best they can, as quickly as they can, with foundation sentences that they can use every day. From there, we focus on the grammar, the hard part. But English is fun, simple, and user-friendly, so while grammar may be the hard part, it is also the fun part.
GED Tutoring
I did not finish HS and had to take a GED. I then enrolled in a community college, then the University of Maryland-College Park (a top 50 school in the US), and earned my BSc and MSc before being awarded Fulbright Fellowship. I understand the value of GED quite well and am passionate about providing help for those who are looking to complete their high school studies.
