Fun Facts

For lack of a more accurate term, I'm a nerd! Most of my free time is spent reading science fiction and fantasy, watching old T.V. shows, and playing sports games with my residents (I'm an R.A. here). I'm passionate about all these things because they allow me to embrace who I am as a person and be proud of it. I also travel in order to visit historical monuments and enjoy that thoroughly.

About Me

I'm a junior at Capital University where I am an Integrated Social Studies major and am on track to graduate with my bachelor's and teaching license in 2016. I made the Dean's list my first semester here and am on track to join it again this semester. When I graduate I plan to teach here in Columbus and use the summers to obtain my masters degree here at Capital. I hope and plan to become a professor in time.

Since coming to Capital University I have been an intern for the Ohio Historical Society. While there, I went out into Columbus schools and gave lectures on Ohio History and helped individual students cultivate their History knowledge through the History Day program. I went to these schools on a recurring basis to facilitate with the teachers all the way up to the end of the school year. With Frog columbus">tutoring, I would get this chance to be in classrooms again and would cherish that opportunity.

As a columbus">tutor the first thing I try to do is to be a good listener, that way the student can let me know what they need and are comfortable asking for my help.Through this, I can adapt to the individual needs of the student and work with them rather than lecture them to the answers. Moreover, my knowledge of my content area with effective work concepts has helped in the past. Finally, by having a positive attitude and good sense of humor, I don't make things too heavy or overbearing for the students.
