Fun Facts
I am fascinated by travel because I experience new cultures and meet new people. I especially love visiting historical landmarks and dining on food unique to the area. I prefer to ride by train or RV and take the scenic route.
About Me
Healthcare is a world of diverse areas of expertise. I love working in medical imaging as a Radiographer/Sonographer. My favorite thing about my current position is that it enables me to use new medical imaging equipment such as CT scans and MRI machines.
Experience
During my career, I've had the opportunity to work at teaching hospitals that partnered with educational programs that allowed students to work clinical rotations. I mentored and directly supervised students practicing medicine in a real-world environment. As a student, I worked in a student-to-student program tutoring underclassmen.
Approach
My favorite teaching advice I ever received was to know the subject well enough to explain it simply. I would start with topics the students are comfortable with. This allows us to establish a rapport, gauge student knowledge on the subject, and build confidence. Gradually move towards more complex areas. Teach lessons tailored to student learning styles. Tutor rather than lecture the student. Give positive reinforcement. Notice successes as well as mistakes.

Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
To gain my credentials as a Radiographer/Sonographer, I was required to recognize human anatomy through the eyes of X-rays and ultrasound imaging. Working as a healthcare provider for years, I've practiced anatomy and physiology, which deals with how the bodily parts function normally and abnormally. Imaging the interior body for clinical analysis and medical intervention, providing a visual representation of the function of anatomy.
