Fun Facts
A passion of mine is animals, big and small. I volunteer every weekend at a cat and dog rescue, and I even have a pup of my own named MisoPretty. My favorite animal experience was riding an elephant in Thailand!
About Me
I am currently a junior at Arizona State University on a full academic scholarship. I'm studying psychology with a minor in family and human development and another in sociology, managing a 3.57 PGA in my major. My dream for the future is to finish graduate school and get my PhD, then go on to open my own child psychology practice!
In high school, I was the president of a club named Community Counts, which mentors inner city, English as a second language, 2nd and 3rd graders. That experience was so eye opening and rewarding, that I could not wait to do it again! Since then, I have been a nanny a 10 and 13 year old, who I help with their homework on an as-needed basis. With my 5th grader this year, we have really been focusing on organizational skills to help her prepare for middle school and life in general.
I have always loved school, and have recently learned all that it has to offer. As an adolescent, I hated reading and would rather do anything else. In high school thanks to a favorite teacher of mine, Mrs. Domino, I learned to love books and the knowledge they can bring. Now, I read 1-2 books a week and love it! I want to share that passion for not only reading, but expanding the mind in general. I think it is important for a child to find something they love, and relate schoolwork back to that- whether it is a sport, animal, anything! I cannot wait to help kids expand their knowledge, while having fun and preparing for the future.
