Fun Facts

I come from a very large family, there are six kids and I am the second oldest. I have four little brothers, who I love to be around. I am a lover of music and learning and I am currently a vocal performance major with a minor in music education. I hope to spend the next fifteen to twenty years performing in operas, musicals and other kinds of the shows and then I would like to teach choir in middle school, high school and eventually college. In my spare time I love to read anything I can get

About Me

I grew up in Whittier, CA and graduated from La Serna in 2003. I started working full time and pursuing my associates degree in business management at Saddleback College until 2005 when I chose to switch majors and concentrate on work. I started at Cerritos College in the fall of 2008 and decided that I needed to focus on music, and have been doing that ever since. I will be graduating from Cerritos and transfering to a university next semester. I spend my time reading, studying and practicing, with very little spare time to do much else. I had to learn the hard way how important education is, and because of that I want to make sure that those that I teach are aware of how important it is that they pay attention and learn as much as they can.
As I stated previously, I have four younger brothers whom I have helped throughout their schooling experience. Right now I have a brother in high school and a brother in junior high, and I am really enjoying seeing them learn and helping them with their homework. I also spent the majority of my teens babysitting children in elementary school and loved helping them with their homework.
I am strict but fun, I want to make sure that the individuals I am helping understand that though learning is fun, it's extremely important to pay attention and do get the work done in a timely manner. Though I believe that a good grade is reward enough for some students, I do understand that some students learn better with a reward program. I am always looking to learn something new and I hope that I can instill that same thirst for learning in some of the individuals I will be helping.
