Fun Facts
I love creativity, logic, and challenge. You could say I am obsessed with chess, Rubik's cubing, competitive strategy games, memorization techniques, and card magic. But my true passion, where I find the most fulfillment and joy, lies in teaching and sharing my interests. I also have a fascination with juggling (I can juggle up to seven objects at once) and I love nearly everything related to numbers.
About Me
I graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in the summer of 2022 with a Summa Cum Laude diploma. Since I was little, I had always planned on going to medical school and becoming a surgeon, but I realized that I was not fully passionate about it. I did not know what type of career I wanted to pursue, so I took a year to figure that out. I feel as though I learned more this year than in all my years in high school. Figuring things out on your own is incredibly powerful. I learned to understand myself, my feelings, my goals, and my dreams. This is not something that is realistically taught in today's formal education system. I wish someone had been there to mentor me not only from an academic perspective but also from a passion perspective. I would love to help others learn and grow in this way. Perhaps my dream career is in mentorship and coaching, and I believe a tutoring job like this is a great start. Although I am just an incoming freshman at IUPUI, I believe I have valuable mentoring skills, expertise in mathematics, and a passion that yearns to reveal how beautiful and addicting learning and understanding can be.

Approach
Breaking down information in a way that is easily understood is truly an art. I believe teaching is a nuanced art that most people struggle to do even a decent job at. Just because you are an expert at something does not mean you are an expert teacher, or even a decent one. To learn something, you need to look at it from multiple perspectives, not just your own. Put yourself in the shoes of the person you are teaching. What do they see? What do they understand? Start from the beginning. Nothing
