A fun fact about me is that I compete in armoured combat! I have an entire suit of steel/titanium armour. I also love to read, do puzzles, and travel.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kelsey! I'm 26. I'm non-binary and use they/them pronouns. I was born and raised in Arkansas, but I moved to Dallas in 2019 for a grad school program to become a teacher. I'm a former high school math teacher and taught from 2019-2021. I got my bachelor's degree in science/texas/dallas">Computer Science and Sociology at Hendrix College in Arkansas, and I got my master's degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University.

Experience

I'm a former high school math teacher and taught from 2019-2021. I taught Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics.

During college, I was a teacher's assistant for our Foundations of science/texas/dallas">Computer Science Python class.

Approach

I approach tutoring through a positive reinforcement lens. I find that giving students the building blocks that they need to develop critical thinking skills and encouraging them along the way is the best way to help them gain confidence in their abilities.
