Fun Facts

One thing people learn quickly about me is how much I love my dogs and my family! Most days I’m picking up my three dogs and head out to play with them. Some days that’s to my parent's house to see their, fun fact, six dogs! I thought having three was a lot of dogs, but six, sheesh.

About Me

I am a 23-year-old Fresno State graduate with a bachelor's degree in Psychology working towards a education/california/fresno">special education and general education teaching credential and a Master's!

Experience

I currently work as an Instructional Assistant II or Paraprofessional for education/california/fresno">Special Education in a school district. I work with 3-5-year-olds with autism using a mix of academics, discrete trial training, and some ABA practices to run the classroom. Most of my abilities can be found if you search “What does an ABA tech do?” Some examples include: behavior management, task oriented goal work, one-step commands (eg touch head), comprehensive skills, social skills, speech skills, etc...

Approach

Sometimes I just didn’t understand the material and wished I would have had a teacher who asked me to walk them through the problem the way I see it first and then they help me get from point A to point B. I just want to understand my student's needs/work ethic fits. After that, help them understand in their way AND the way it has to be taught to them! They just need to see it their way first sometimes to succeed.
