I love reading! My favourite author is Edgar Allan Poe. I also enjoy walking my little dog and talking with my daughter about writing. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, fantasy shows, and supernatural series.

About Me

I am a education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education English and Study Skills teacher. This will be my 6th year as a high school teacher. I attended Western Governors University for my teaching degree in education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education and Elementary Education. I aspire to earn my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Experience

I have taught Basic Skills English and Study Skills for Transition to 9th-12th graders for 5 1/2 years. In my English Basic Skills classes, I teach the General Education curriculum, but with more scaffolding, accommodations, and extended time parameters in place. In my Study Skills class, I support students with checking their grades and missed assignments, as well as professionally emailing their teachers.

Approach

As a teacher, I believe that all students can learn and grow. When students are respected, appreciated, challenged, and provided with opportunities; they show growth. My philosophy is based on student potential to learn and improve, utilizing their strengths, weaknesses, assets, and inherent abilities. I am excited to bring this philosophy into the tutoring area, as well.
