Hi!! With my perky personality and bright smile, my friends think of me of always getting the party started! I always find something for us to do as a group and cheap! I enjoy going to the parks, museums, and seeking new adventures around the city. I also like to dance. I'm not brave enough (at the time) do any karaoke. I'm the oldest of six children, with the youngest being 8yrs old!! I've been in Houston for going on 7 yrs and I absolutely love it here!
About Me
Currently, I'm the Gifted and Talented (GT) Coordinator at Harmony School of Science. My objective is to provided enrichment services to our GT students and coach them during their independent research project. Most importantly, I communicate with the parent to ensure them that their child is receiving the best education our school has to offer. I really enjoy interacting activities in the classroom to encourage our students to participate in class. houston">Tutoring has inspired me to step into the world of teaching!
Previously, I'm was research assistant at Baylor College of Medicine located within the Medical Center. I have a great passion for biomedical research. I graduated from the University of Texas - Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in December 2011 with a Masters in Genes and Developmental Biology. While attending delaware-state-university">Delaware State University, I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry.
Since I'm the oldest of 6 children, I have experience in houston">tutoring my younger siblings. They always called me up when they had a problem (even when I was in college and away from home!!). I enjoy helping them excel in school, because our mother taught us that "knowledge is power" and we should get as much of it as possible. I tutored student who were taking Intro into Biology and College Algebra while I was a freshman/ sophomore in college. I also contributed a lot in my study groups with the advance sciences, because I had on-hands experiences with the techniques. I was well known in graduate school for organizing study groups.
My approach in helping you improve in your course work is to first go over what you did in the day, look over your notes you took during class, and go over you exams to see where we need to start. If you have more that one class you are struggling with, then I will start with the one you are struggling with the most.
