Fun Facts
-I lived in South Korea for 12 years after I graduated college.
-I love music. Before the advent of streaming, I had a 1000+ CD collection. I love to play music and am proficient at bass guitar, saxophone, and drums.

About Me
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006 with a degree in Music. After graduating, I went to South Korea to teach ESL and became fascinated with the country and with languages in general. I stayed in Korea to teach ESL for about 12 years, eventually starting my own ESL academy. During my time there, I reached working fluency in Korean. After my return to the US, I ran an instrumental music program and a science/texas/dallas">computer science program at a charter school from 2019-2022.
Experience
I have 15+ years of experience teaching a wide variety of subjects. While at university, I did SAT prep tutoring for 3 years. In Korea, I taught ESL to every age group from Pre-K to business professionals in both private, school, and corporate settings. In the US, I taught instrumental music and science/texas/dallas">computer science/coding at a charter school. During this time, in addition to ESL, I also tutored students who were behind in Math and English to bring them up to grade level.
Approach
First, I try to be a master of the subject I'm teaching. This gives me confidence in what I'm doing and also allows the students to trust in me.
Second, I am always trying to find new methods of teaching and new ways of explaining things, often experimenting with new teaching techniques. This is probably my greatest strength as an educator.
Third, I always try to connect with students by letting them know I care about them as a person.
