As I have mentioned, I love to read and this year I have read 60 books! In the previous year, I read 113 books! I will continue to try and beat my record year after year for sure!

About Me

My name is Layla and I'm a third-year student at Boston College studying Psychology and English with dreams of becoming a clinical child psychologist. I adore reading and writing creatively in my free time, as I find it brings joy and peace to some of my most hectic days!

Experience

I started tutoring my freshman year in high school, assisting students in grades 2-6 in reading comprehension, writing, and literacy. I continued this through my senior year of high school and working with those students was such an incredible opportunity, as I got to see how much progress my 2nd graders made as they approached middle school. In high school I tutored my peers in a myriad of subjects including Spanish, AP Literature and Composition, AP European History, and Honors English

Approach

For me, the most ideal approach when tutoring students is to provide individualized instruction that acknowledges their unique learning needs. By adapting teaching styles and tailoring instruction, I find that I can effectively engage with students on a deeper level and not only maintain their interest in the subject but spark a fire in their hearts for a love of learning.
