I'm a lifelong Packers fan. I have no singing ability at all. I love being outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

About Me

I taught school for 20 years in the public schools around San Antonio and mostly enjoyed it. I still like teaching, I'm pretty good at explaining things and showing how to figure things out for themselves.

Experience

I taught for 20 years, mostly middle school, mostly Math but also the other subjects at times. I was usually given the honor of having the most...challenging.....students assigned to my class where I tried to help them turn things around. Lots of experience with discouraged learners, students on the autism spectrum, and students with attention deficits. I'm pretty seasoned.

Approach

I think the only real freedom anybody has is the freedom to figure things out for themselves. If you can't do that, or don't want to do that, then you'll have to depend on what other people are telling you. I try to work in the Affective Domain with students (how do they feel about figuring things out? How do they feel about learning new things?) whenever I can because you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink.
