I love to sing, play the piano and spend time with my dog Melody, who is a 9 year old Havanese. In college I spent a lot of my time preforming in operas and musicals. Today I serve on the Board of Trustees at church as well as sing in the church choir.

About Me

I attended New Mexico State University from2003-2007 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Education. I have endorsements to teach Math, Reading, Music and Teaching English to Second Language Learners. My GPA upon college graduation was 3.85. I have taught in middle schools as well as high schools. My favorite job thus far has been at a charter school for the arts where I taught Musical Theater and Algebra to education/utah/salt-lake-city">special education students.

After becoming licensed to teach in the State of New Mexico, I taught in the public schools for five years. During that time, I also worked for a company providing one on one tutoring in Math and Reading in students' homes. I've done one on one tutoring sessions with students from Kindergarten through college students.

My tutoring approach is tailored to what each student needs. Students have different learning styles and each student has a different motivator. I like to stay in tune with the student and determine the most effective way for the student to stay engaged and able to understand the material. Some students need time and space to think and other students need frequent prompting and encouragement. I have a kind and gentle demeanor and am also able to be direct with expectations.
