I love working with all ages and I have a lot of experience as both the instructor and the student, so relatability, patience, and mutual respect are my strengths. I specialize in ESL and Foreign Languages, but I can tutor an array of subjects in the arts and humanities.

About Me

I have been teaching and tutoring for over 15 years. I’m a native Spanish speaker and I learned Persian to fluency at the Defense Language Institute of Monterey and learned French and Arabic at UMass Boston during both of my degree programs - Anthropology BA, Applied Linguistics MA. I specialize in languages but can be just as effective in the arts and humanities. I know my fields well - they are my passion alongside people and the community.

Experience

I have worked as a teacher, tutor, and linguist in California, Texas, Georgia, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts in rural as well as metropolitan areas for several schools and companies.

Approach

Before tutoring begins I try to establish the student’s learning styles, goals, and any accommodations they may need. I design materials and instruction around these styles and needs and create as clear a pathway as possible from base knowledge to the knowledge required to reach their academic and/or intellectual goals.
