Fun Facts
I am really interested in Football/soccer. I always have fun watching and discussing football/soccer. As far as I am in love with traveling, this is my first time in the States and I love the diversity the campus offers. Furthermore, I also love coffee. Back in Indonesia, I opened a coffee shop with my friends and I loved every single day learning how to make perfect latte.
About Me
I am a MA student in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Arizona State University. I am currently also a third officer of the Computer Assisted Language Learning Club. I work mostly to prepare the annual Arizona CALL conference and workshops. Additionally, I am also working as a translator in Thousand Languages Projects.
Experience
Before pursuing a Master's degree, I co-founded an organization called Central Borneo Scientific Organization. My work was mostly focused on helping the students to write and conduct small research before competing in national and international competitions. Other than that, I also worked in a language center at the University where I did my undergraduate study as a writing tutor to help with the students' essays and their language exam preparations.
Approach
As an L2 writer and learner myself, I used to struggle with writing. I was fortunate because I was always surrounded by amazing people who helped me to develop my skills. Until now, I have tried to find those types of people and learn from them. In tutoring, I often use the Socratic method. This method helps me to actually understand what my students want to convey in their writing instead of correcting the grammar.
