Fun Facts

My favorite vacations that I have ever taken have both been bike tours! The first trip was from washington/seattle">Seattle to San Francisco with a friend over the course of a month and the latest was a solo two week ride from Cleveland to Cambridge. I love riding for fun and to commute. I can touch my nose with my tongue and I'm the oldest of three sisters.

About Me

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona in May 2014 where I worked as a tucson">tutor for two and a half years as well as an instructor in bicycle education classes with the county. Shortly after graduating I was accepted into the Peace Corps and will be leaving for Indonesia in March to begin my service as an English teacher! In preparation for service I would like to upkeep my tucson">tutoring and teaching skills.

I began working in the bicycle education program in Pima County in high school and became certified as an instructor my sophomore year of college. A gentleman who took a class with me worked for a tucson">tutoring program at the University of Arizona and encouraged me to apply, and so I did and found I really loved working one one one with students and helping them better understand their courses. I tutored for two and a half years at the University and have continued privately tucson">tutoring by referral since graduating. I have also tutored once a week with a local non-profit cycling team's youth for the last three years.

I had a chemistry teacher in high school who stuck with me even though chemistry was a real struggle for me. She never gave me answers but she always asked a lot of questions to find out where I was missing the pieces or connections. I went on to really enjoy and excel in chemistry in college and so I have adopted that style of questioning and emphasizing what the student does know and building from there. I believe in underscoring what the student is good at and playing up their strengths as well as rounding out their study habits.
