About Me
I have a master's degree in Occupational therapy and hope to become a therapist working in different settings. I have 3 years of experience working in the school district in the Memphis Area. I volunteer with individuals with disabilities to carry out daily tasks. I help IDD patients address psychosocial and sensory components to completing play and leisure tasks, academics, and social participation.
Experience
I have 3 years of experience working in the Memphis school districts and Care Math tutor through third parties. Skilled in monitoring students' progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians, and assisting students in developing carry-over study skills and schedules.
Approach
Through trials of sitting for the NBCOT, I have learned ample outlets to grasp a concept through memory devices and activities such as mnemonics and practical games. The approach I choose to help others is centered on their likes and dislikes and utilizing one of my great character traits, patience. In my experience in tutoring/ teaching the subject of reading we utilize practices to enunciate words and popcorn activities to make the task interactive and to remain oriented.
