I find that many students believe that as their manhattan">tutor, mentor, instructor etc., I possess some sort of super-human knowledge that they cannot possibly attain. Therefore, I would say that my approach to manhattan">tutoring is to support students in a way which encourages them to first think through the problems they are experiencing. I never just give a student the answer. Instead, I try to pick their brains and ascertain how much a student understands a given topic. If the student becomes frustrated and clearly requires assistance, I will work through the problem with the student and demonstrate the necessary steps that he or she should utilize in the future. I have learned that each student learns differently, and I strive to tailor my assistance to the type of student I am working with.
