Fun Facts
When I'm not studying, I love to be outdoors. My favorite hobbies include rock climbing, hiking, swimming, running, reading and creative writing. My greatest passion, however, is learning. My favorite way to enjoy an afternoon is sitting down with a steaming cup of coffee and the newest issue of The Economist.
About Me
I graduated from washington/seattle">seattle-pacific-university">washington/seattle">Seattle Pacific University Cum Laude in June 2014 with degrees in Biology and International Economics and a minor in Political Science. I was awarded the President's Scholar Award (2010-2014), the Viking Trust Scholar Award (2010-2014), and the MB Miller School of Business and Economics for academic excellence and leadership potential. Additionally, I was a member of the Deans List from 2010-2014 and inducted into Ivy Honorary in 2013. My ultimate goal is to attend graduate school to become an economist.
I have experience washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring elementary through highschool students. As a washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor for Helen Hallar Elementary School, I offered washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring services for all subjects areas to elementary school students, but specialized in math and science. I have also volunteered with Junior Achievement, a non-profit organization that seeks to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy through mentorship and programs that build work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills. In addition, I worked for washington/seattle">seattle-pacific-university">washington/seattle">Seattle Pacific University as a Teaching Assistant in Genetics and Business Ethics courses.
While in middle school and high school, I had a harder time with math and the sciences. I didn't know how to align my learning style with my teachers particular teaching style. This is the case for numerous students struggling in these areas; in order to combat this I tailor my washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring style to each individual so that understanding the material becomes not only much easier, but also enjoyable.
