I am a published and prize-winning writer who graduated from the urbana-champaign">University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a High Distinction in English.
Experience
The last person I tutored spoke English as a second language but passed her English equivalency exam as soon as she started working with me after failing it several times before. As a result, she continued to use my help through earning her BS in Accounting and is now happily married and living in Denmark where she's expecting her first child.
Approach
I prefer to let my students tell me where they feel weak. That allows me to then concentrate on what they need help with, suggesting ways to correct and explaining why the correct answer is as it is. This helps them remember and improve accordingly.
