Fun Facts
I have been a nurse since the age of 16! I started in healthcare when facilities were still using bar soap. I pioneered as a travel RN since 1996. I was trained as a novice nurse in New York at Elmhurst Hospital. Today, it was ground zero for COVID treatment. I also took part in many studies such as Toradol usage and head cooling in the pediatric population.
About Me
I have been a registered nurse for over 35 years. I completed my associate RN degree in 1994, my BSN in April 2012, and my master’s in nursing. My experiences are from the bedside, charge, director, and currently as a certified certified (mandated by the state board of nurses) educator in California for all nursing subjects. My specialty is pediatrics, but I have extensive experience in the neonate, pediatrics, and adult intensive care units.
Experience
I have all types of non-traditional and traditional nursing experiences. I have worked in all clinical areas from bedside on all units, home care, research, and education.
Approach
I have "mastered" the teaching of the foundation of nursing...the nursing process. It is the building block of any nurse's critical thinking. I assist with poor understanding of this concept, poor testing, care plan development, documentation, pain interventions, understanding cultural diversity, and NCLEX preparation.
