Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is I have so many tattoos that I've lost count of them! Each piece has been done by a different artist and I've even done some of them myself. Being tattooed is an integral part of my self-expression and always a great conversation piece.

About Me

I am an extremely enthusiastic educator with a great passion for consuming and creating art. I grew up performing and making visual art, and as I aged into young adulthood, I found that my greatest love is the art form of writing. I like to say that I'm an educator by day and a poet by night, but the truth is that I am testing and improving my abilities and skills as both a teacher and writer every day all the time. I have big aspirations, including graduating with my Ph.D. and teaching as a literature and writing professor as well as publishing my personal writing, and releasing my musings to the world that will hopefully make an impact on readers.

Experience

I have had the pleasure of tutoring and teaching at different grade levels as well as stages of reading and writing comprehension. In my role as a reading tutor with New Alternatives, a charity that benefits homeless LGBTQ+ youth, I worked one-on-one with a young girl struggling to learn to read as well as comprehend the literary material her grade was covering. Approach

I take a simultaneously very serious and eager, positive approach to tutoring and teaching. It is an immense responsibility to educate others. One thing about my approach to education that is imperative to remember is that each student, no matter what age or background, will have a different learning ability. Some students are visual learners and others are auditory learners, for example. The essential point to emphasize here is that tutoring presents an optimal opportunity to give individualize
