One of my future goals includes developing an after-school chess program in my local area for young students to learn how to play the game/various strategy tactics, build confidence, and practice social communication skills in a safe environment.

About Me

I am a 25-year-old female residing in Fishers, IN. I currently work full-time at Indiana Donor Network (three 12-hour shifts per week, occasional weekends). In my free time, I enjoy playing disc golf with friends, reading, hiking the great outdoors, cooking nice meals, and hammocking at my favorite local park. I also have a sassy, yet sweet, 3-year-old cat named Ginger.

Experience

2017-2019: Substitute teacher and 7/8th grade cheer coach in the Franklin Township School District
2019-2020: Mentoring member of the "G.O.A.L." (Get Onboard Active Learning) program. This program aimed to promote healthy lifestyles amongst students and their families
2019-2020: Elected as the Vice President of Intellectual Development for Alpha Chi Omega at IUPUI
2020-2023: EMT at Riley Children's Hospital working closely with children and their respective adults

Approach

Growing up as one of the oldest of six children, I became my mother’s first opportunity to practice homework and tutoring after school, which often led me to develop feelings of stress. These experiences motivated me to adopt various strategies to aid my four younger sisters with their homework, learning, and overall development. As a tutor, my goal is to employ a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to learning that is tailored to the individual, as learning is not a one-size-fits-all.
