I've been an avid reader and writer most of my life, and my favourite genres are fantasy and mystery! I also played basketball for a long time and I enjoy long walks and listening to alternative rock music.

About Me

I'm a recent graduate of chicago">Loyola University Chicago, with a degree in English/Creative Writing and a minor in Communications. I hope to be a published novelist one day, and I'm currently working on a novel and various short stories. I plan to get an MFA in Fiction Writing one day, too.

Experience

I tutored writing for college students in various disciplines for over three years at Loyola. I'm currently tutoring English and test prep part-time to middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Approach

I believe in helping students build foundational skills that they will continue to use throughout their lives. Because of this, I take a more indirect approach to tutoring: giving hints and providing pathways/strategies to the goal, but making sure the student is taking the lead in understanding and completing each task themselves. If the student needs more direct help, I switch to a more hands-on style until they are comfortable learning how to work through these strategies themselves.
