About Me

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Asia Studies. As an active attorney, with over 10+ years of legal experience. I work for the courts - I draft, proofread, and edit judicial decisions. Because of this, I am highly detail-oriented, and a stickler for grammar and sentence structure. In my free time, I like to hike in the mountains and swim in the ocean. I run marathons and play tennis every week. I also enjoy listening to music and meeting with friends. My mother was born in China and moved to America when she was a teenager. So, I understand the immigrant experience. I can speak multiple Chinese dialects, including Mandarin and Cantonese. Most of all, teaching English is a privilege and an absolute pleasure.

Experience

As a Cambly tutor, I have had the opportunity to teach many non-native speaking students English, from a beginner level to very advanced. We work on reading comprehension, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, business English, and the American accent.

Approach

I am a kind and thoughtful teacher. Learning with me is fun. I am also extremely patient. I want students to feel comfortable and relaxed so that they can absorb and process our lessons together. My teaching style is based on having different conversations with my students, and, while doing so, correcting any vocabulary and grammar mistakes that they may make.
