Fun Facts

I'm passionate about literature and film! I love writing fiction, poetry, and screenplays, and am always excited to talk about and nurture creative writing. I'm a big fan of classic movies, my favorite being Mean Streets, directed by Martin Scorsese. I love learning about different shots and techniques and it's become a real passion.

About Me

I am currently working towards a University of Cambridge MicroMasters degree in Writing for the Performance and Screen Industries through Edx. I earned high grades in two college writing classes at Naugatuck Valley Community College (English and Composition H101 and Literature and Composition H102). I was an Honors and AP scholar in high school, scoring 5's in AP Literature, AP Language and Composition, and AP US History. I was also the editor-in-chief of my school newspaper and the founder of my school's Creative Writing Club.

I speak English and Portuguese fluently, as my family is from Brazil. I can understand and speak basic French.

As a member of the National Honors Society Tutoring Committee, I tutored peers bi-weekly in English and Math. In my senior year, I created lesson plans and activities for my school's Creative Writing Club. In my freshman and junior years I took Child Development classes where I got to work with kids in elementary school, make lesson plans, and observe classrooms.

By making connections between STEM classes and the Humanities, I was able to keep myself engaged throughout the school day and deepen my learning. It's this kind of engagement that I would like to offer to le
