Fun Facts
One of my passions is to learn what I can about different subjects. I studied Japanese and have been to the country twice because I thought it would be a fun opportunity. Aside from language, I love anything creative. I grew up with lots of access to performing and visual art opportunities and have since taken the time to learn as many different skills as possible. I love writing poetry and sketching, but I also like taking on new projects.
About Me
I have recently started working in CPS as a school assistant and very shortly was asked to join as a SECA. I work with students in different settings and I love being able to help them with their education. I received my Bachelor's degree from the urbana-champaign">University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign but moved back home to Chicago. I hope to one day continue my education and study to officially become a teacher.
Experience
In my current job, I work with all types of students in different classroom settings. I can work one-on-one with a student, in small groups, or assist teachers with their whole class during a lesson. I am proud of the trust I have earned from students. Even before working with CPS, I spent a lot of my time as a student helping my peers and family members with their academic work.
Approach
I have always been inspired by my teachers growing up who took the time to nurture a love for learning and encouraged curiosity and different ways of thinking. From my peers around me, I noticed that not everyone learns the same way, and at times that can be frustrating. I want to help in a way that the students enjoy learning and present things in ways that make sense to them. I do my best to help them have a better understanding of a subject so they can apply that knowledge to other areas.
