About Me

My name is Shemika Toliver. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Argosy University. For graduate school, I attended Ashford University and received my master’s degree in education with a specialization in education/illinois/chicago">special education. I have a post-master’s degree from Capella University in Applied behavior analysis.

Experience

I have worked in the field of education for about 13 years now. I previously worked as a substitute teacher, where I travelled to different charter schools and worked with a diversity of students from grades k-8. I now work as a education/illinois/chicago">special education teacher. As a schoolteacher, I work to maximize learner success, promoting equity and access for all students. At work, I am a listener, mentor, advisor, and supporter.

Approach

My goal is to be a good educator to help students develop their skills and abilities, assist students in reaching their potential, and ensure the learning environment is appropriate and positive.
