Fun Facts
I have been playing the flute for about 11 years now and it is one of my favorite hobbies! Aside from tutoring, I love to babysit little kids and babies!
About Me
I am a senior at Marian University studying Elementary Education. I also plan to get an additional license to teach grades 5-9 English Language Arts specifically to teach in middle schools. I hope to teach in the IPS district for some years then go back to school to earn my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with hopes of being a principal, then Administrator in the future!
Experience
I am highly involved on Marian's campus, with relevant experience briefly serving as the chapter's College Mentors for Kids President! I am currently a 21st Century Scholars Mentor and a First Year Seminar Peer Mentor, so with both groups, I get my own group of incoming freshmen and meet weekly with them for their first semester of college. For a clinical (teaching) experience for one of my education courses, we tutor students 3 semesters in a row in the Foundations of Literacy/English.
Approach
I've always been an advanced reader, taking higher-level reading classes since Kindergarten and always reading way above my grade level. I know especially within the POC community, that reading scores are low, and I would love to share my passion and joy for reading with those who may struggle with it!
