About Me

My name is Ilana Schachter and I attended Cornell University and received my Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition. Then, I attended health-and-science-university">Oregon Health and Science University for my dietetic internship. I have been tutoring both in person and virtually for the past five years. I really enjoy connecting and relating to my students because it helps to facilitate a more comfortable environment for students to make mistakes and learn from them. I am extremely patient, compassionate, and understanding. I have worked with a variety of students and feel as though tutoring is extremely individualized especially because everyone learns differently. My goal is to find out how to best support each student.

Experience

I have been tutoring a variety of subjects for the past 5 years both virtually and in person. I have also led my own SAT/ACT class where I created my own curriculum and lessons for students.

Approach

As a child, I really struggled with writing so I can understand how frustrating it can be to not understand a subject. This has allowed me to become more patient and compassionate for students and work to find the best way to support them.
