Arts Tutoring

I am an art teacher of 2 years, and a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, where I studied all kinds of art and majored in Painting. I continue to have an art practice. I mostly love creating portraits and images from my personal mythology, a place with red snow leopards and islands made of brie cheese.

English Tutoring

I completed a college course called the Pedagogy of Reading, where I learned exactly how to best help children learn to read! I got an A in this class, which I took because I love reading and want to teach children to love it, too.

I taught English classes to a middle school youth for two years, and helped her develop a serious love of reading.

Writing Tutoring

Writing is my biggest passion in life!

I've always been a writer! I've been working on a book of memoirs, but I also love writing children's literature.

I developed most of my writing practice in middle school, and I love the perspectives of children and really care about nurturing their creative writing gifts.

Reading Tutoring

For Elementary School kids: I completed a college course called the Pedagogy of Reading, where I learned exactly how to best help children learn to read! I got an A in this class, which I took because I love reading and want to teach children to love it, too.

For Middle School kids: As a voracious reader whose favorite book is the notoriously complicated James Joyce's Ulysses, I help children understand and dive into all kinds of material. I ask questions about the books we read and we even do some outside research that helps us understand the deep meanings behind the books. I tutored a middle school student in reading for 2 years, and helped her love it (in her own words!).
